Hallmark’s “When Calls The Heart” Season 10 is officially set to hit our screens starting on July 30th and we’re so excited!!
When the premiere date was announced for Season 10, the network also announced that the show will return for a Season 12 as well!
Hallmark renewed “When Calls the Heart” for a 12-episode eleventh season.
“I’m so thrilled, proud and grateful to Hallmark that the show has been renewed for Season 11. We have so many more stories to tell. With our amazing cast, crew, and brilliant writers, there will be no shortage of romance and new adventures for the residents of Hope Valley! Having the Hearties continue this journey with us has meant the world and we are thrilled to share what’s in store these next two seasons!” – Erin Krakow
Hallmark EVP of programming Lisa Hamilton Daly shared, “When Calls the Heart has continued to be a standout amongst our Hallmark catalogue and we’re thrilled that we’re able to bring more stories of faith and community to the homes of millions of viewers. The uplifting nature of the show paired with the love and positivity in the storytelling makes for a very heartwarming television experience and it’s only going to get bigger and better in Season 11.”
It was said that Season 11 would begin filming around the time Season 10 premieres which is in July!
Now that the writers strike is currently taking over the industry, will filming for the next season get pushed back?
The ongoing Writers Guild of America strike (and the possible SAG-AFTRA strike) leaves the future of TV up in the air. The list of shows delayed by the strike is growing by the day meaning that When Calls The Heart could film later than usual.
The only good news about this is that the show always filming early so maybe the late start won’t affect fans in the long run? Fingers crossed!
Let’s us know your thoughts!?

Inspired by Janette Oke’s bestselling book series about the Canadian West, “When Calls the Heart” follows the story of a young schoolteacher and single mother, Elizabeth Thornton (Erin Krakow), in the quaint town of Hope Valley. When her husband is suddenly killed on duty, she must find the courage and strength to move forward. With the help and guidance of the townspeople and her friends, she adjusts to the ever-changing times and the people that enter her life.
Other central characters include Rosemary Coulter (Pascale Hutton), Elizabeth’s best friend, the town’s loveable busybody once described as “part Broadway showgirl, part Frontier woman,” and her patient husband, the upstanding businessman Leland Coulter (Kavan Smith). Judge Bill Avery (Jack Wagner) works hard to protect the town and to cement his position as Hope Valley’s ultimate authority. Fairly new to the community are Mountie Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry) and saloon owner Lucas Bouchard (Chris McNally), who both vie for the attention of Elizabeth. With the added pressure on deciding between her suitors, writing a novel and taking care of her son, Elizabeth continues to teach the children of Hope Valley all while trying to navigate the challenges in her life.
